The Video Counting Site is up and Running!

If you would like to help us out with assessing the population of river herring at Nequasset Dam in 2013, please return to riverherring.com and check out the "How to Video Count" page. We need volunteers to watch 5-minute video clips of alewives swimming through the fish ladder to tell us how many fish they saw. We really need your help!

The Run is Over

The alewife run is over for the 2013 season and in person counting has stopped. Many of the adult alewives are making their way back to the ocean. You can see them coming back over the top of the Nequasset fish ladder in the video below!

We still need lots of help counting videos online to get the most accurate population assessment possible. Go to riverherring.com to help!
